Charlie Smith [US] and Jaime Ladet [US] will be creating Quadrapass. Both have a long history of producing Art for Burning Man. They will conduct workshops in Cape Town working with local metal workers to build Quadrapass and will then attend AFRIKA BURNS and burn for 3 nights.

Corbett Griffith [US] is an artist engineer who will be working with Joe Martin [US] and Paul Jorgensen [US] on building the 12th Key - a sculpture that will burn at the event.

Syd Klinge will be building a large Tesla Coil.

Quadrapass

An International community building experience

Quadrapass spans the continents of North America and Africa! Community-funded, community-built art projects are the next step in the future of art | an experiment in sharing and exploring art to build community through object.

Artists Charlie Smith and Jaime Ladet are producing Quadrapass with the assistance of Paul Jorgensen and a seed-money grant from the Black Rock Arts Foundation

The sculptural experience, Quadrapass, is based on building a commonality between international artists of varying gender, social and ethnic classes in the South African region. ? We hope to share both our knowledge of building sculptural form as well as community building with our participants.

2. Then, Quadrapass will be displayed and ablaze during an international burning art experience called Africa Burns, www.afrikaburns.com
3. After the event the sculpture will continue to be displayed in the South African region.
